How to Use This Template
This contract template is designed specifically for event photographers and videographers. It covers booking details (date, time, location, access arrangements), service description (hours of coverage, number of edited images, delivery timeline and format), pricing with deposit and balance terms, copyright and usage rights, cancellation policy, limitation of liability, backup equipment provisions, and a force majeure clause.
Be precise about what's included. "8 hours of coverage with 300+ edited digital images delivered via online gallery within 4 weeks" is clear. "Wedding photography package" is not. Spell out what happens if the event runs over (overtime rate), whether prints or albums are included, who owns the copyright (in the UK, it's the photographer by default under the CDPA 1988 unless otherwise agreed in writing), and what usage rights the client receives.
Send this with every booking confirmation. Photography disputes almost always come down to mismatched expectations — what the client thought they were getting versus what was actually agreed. A clear contract prevents those painful conversations and protects your creative work. Get it signed before the deposit is paid.
