How to Use This Template
This waiver template covers situations where clients or guests participate in activities with inherent risk — outdoor events, interactive food preparation, children's entertainment, or any setup where injury is a possibility. It includes an acknowledgement of risk, a release of liability, an indemnity clause, and space for the participant (or parent/guardian) to sign and date.
Customise the activity description to match what you offer. A mobile bar might reference alcohol consumption and slippery surfaces; an outdoor caterer might cover uneven ground and hot equipment. Keep the language clear — overly legalistic wording puts people off signing. Under English law, you can't exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, so the waiver covers voluntary assumption of risk rather than blanket immunity.
Hand these out before activities begin, particularly at festivals, team-building events, and private parties with interactive elements. They don't replace public liability insurance (you absolutely still need that), but they demonstrate due diligence and can support your position if a claim is made. Keep signed copies for at least three years.
